I’ll show you mine…

For some reason we see odd uses of innocent children illustrations on dry cleaner signs in Japan, as also evidenced in this previous brog post. Here we see a boy and girl saying:

Girl:  ”I can really see the difference!” (ちがいがはっきり)
Boy:  ”Where is the difference?” (どこがちがうの?)

I suppose the cute images are to attract mothers taking their husband’s clothes out to the cleaner…?

Something is about to happy (birthday)

I received this email the other day and needless to say, I thought it was awesome:

“Every year my mom makes my birthday cake. . .except this year, the year I turned 32, because this year a storm badly damaged her house and the house is under reconstruction, meaning that she didn’t have an oven to use to bake a cake.  Instead, she ordered this one from a bakery:

Thought you might like to see it.  A matching T-shirt from your store hung waiting on the back of the bathroom door for me in the morning. Karen”

She’s a Self Loathing Fantastic Girl

Japanese stationery often has random sayings on them, but at least the messages are usually positive (ex. “Love!”, “peace”).  Not sure what the thought process was for this one…
