Feel the Magic Atmosphere in Ephesus, Turkey

posted on 12 Nov 2008 in Almost Engrish

I have received various photos of this sign about 15 times over the years, and even though I thought it was funny it really falls into the category of “Almost Engrish”:

The sign is found in the ancient city of Ephesus, Turkey - a popular tourist spot. Perhaps millions have felt the magic here.

Most people who have wrote in said that there was no-one collecting money when the went in - so maybe they got free magic.

Hey Rick. I hardly ever delete comments - only ones that contain four letter words or other questionable content (such as references to pleasuring oneself). I deleted two of your comments in the past because of this. I like to keep the site at least somewhat family friendly. Thanks!

Wouldn’t the typos push it over the edge of almost Engrish to full Engrish?

The poor kid’s built like a mermaid. Also, it would appear his pants are nowhere to be found which begs the question, are there simply no pants that fit his odd thighbellybutt?

If that’s the “magic atmosphere,” somebody light a match.

I would most likely move from a town where the magic atmospheric highlight is taking a dump!

Ephesus is known to be one of the first sites that have public toilets and even a simple sewerage system. I’ve seen the Ephesus Ancient public toilet, even sat on it (but did not use it of course) that was kind of a magic atmosphere (the enterance fee is a lil higher than 50 cent though)

Using a TinEye image search, I found a lot of photos out there of this same sign. It appears the incorrect apostrophe has been removed in some shots.
