Corpse in Train Station Locker?
A few years back, I heard what was considered to be an urban legend by foreigners in Japan: that there was a sign in a Tokyo train station that asked you not to leave corpses in their lockers. The legend goes that there were dead bodies being left in lockers so the management felt the need to spell it out that this is inappropriate behavior.
Turns out that the legend is true! Someone wrote in and told me the whereabouts of this sign and I had a friend take the pic below:
Now what are we to do with our corpses?

Hey, he was alive when I put him in there…
Well, it only says “corpse” in the singular…so maybe it’s ok if you put more than one corpse to a locker.
Awesome!
(3) Live animals
(7) Corpse.
What about animal corpses? Seems to be a grey area.
It’s a popular disposal technique for urban psychopaths – cut up the body and leave parts in various lockers.
I realize that this post is a bit old and nobody might see this comment, but just for the record… The sign actually means what it says, as there have been unfortunate incidents of people depositing unwanted babies and cremated remains in coin lockers in the past. The incidents made national headlines at the time.
But still, I agree that it’s ridiculous to put it on a sign.
